Gratitudes In Books, More things to see and read

This page is set up for different book that at I am very grateful for. Some will be obvious by their titles why I am. Others' may not be so obvious. I will try to include with each title a summary and reason why I am grateful for these particular books. I have many but will be adding them on here slowly as I go along. The titles will be set up as links to easily access to websites of where to find the book(s), to be able to look the books over and read the reviews, descriptions etc.

I can honestly say that this book set me on a path to understanding that always been out of my grasp before reading this book. It was life changing for me and it is probably the only book that I have ever said that about, ever. Other books have had huge impacts on me, but THIS book, is THE book for me as far as giving me a sense of purpose and more importantly understanding the lessons in my life. It's a wonderful book and if you are feeling lost or that there is no sense to what you or someone else is going through or find yourself asking the question "why?" a lot in your life (as I have done all my life) then this book is for you.

2) This week's book selection is titled: The Mastery Of Love - A Toltec Wisdom Book
This book is so wonderful in it's way of having you see the world and your life and what role you have played in the world as a whole. It shows love can be destroyed and what is destroying it and how this has contributed to the state of things that we now call our lives. I honestly can't say it any better then what the book description does so I am going to include it here.

"In The Mastery of Love, don Miguel illuminates the fear-based beliefs and assumptions that undermine love and lead to suffering and drama in our relationships. Using insightful stories to bring his message to life, he shows us how to heal our emotional wounds, recover the freedom and joy that are our birthright, and restore the spirit of playfulness that is vital to loving relationships. Using teachings from the three Toltec Masteries (Awareness, Transformation, and Love) as a foundation, don Miguel brings to light the fallacies and misplaced expectations about love that permeate most relationships. He gracefully shares his wisdom through delightful and engaging stories that clarify each point and bring his message to life.

3) Feb.20, 2012 ~ This weeks book recommendation is titled How To Raise Your Vibration, by Sabrina Reber. This is such a wonderful book and it has helped my awareness so much. I carry it around me so that when I have a moment I can take it out and read through it. I am getting through it so slowly as I keep marking things as I go and want to absorb every morsel or each word that I read completely. If you are working on enlightenment and raising your vibrational energy and want someone who can clearly and concisely explain this in a way that is truly understandable, there is no one better then Sabrina at doing that.

From the author in her own words concerning her book:
During these times of rapid transformation it is important for each of us to be involved and consciously participating in the expansion of our consciousness and unfolding of our spiritual being. I have written a guide book called "RAISE YOUR VIBRATION" that will help you access your highest soul's potential at this most auspicious time on Earth.

There are many things we need to be working on to help us evolve. We are multidimensional beings and all aspects of our being ~ emotionally, mentally, physically, soulfully and spiritually ~ need to be fine tuned and raised in frequency so we can return ourselves to a place of unification and wholeness. Ascension is a process and a commitment you must make to yourself and the Creator of All That Is so you can return home......so you can return home  - Sabrina Reber

4). Feb. 27, 2012 ~ This week's book selection is Positive Energy: 10 Extraordinary Prescriptions For Transforming Fatigue, Stress & Fear Into Vibrance, Strength & Love by Judith Orloff. I have just started this book and already I am so excited about it for so many reasons. I love the idea that the author approached psychotherapy so differently and isn't bogged down by conventional methods. The fact that she is an empath is even more exciting for me. Because I have only just begun this book this week and can't get a full account of it as of yet -here is the review/description for it:

Energy psychiatrist Dr. Judith Orloff shares ten heartfelt tips to help you sense and transform the energies around you in order to make better choices and improve the quality of your relationships in her book, POSITIVE ENERGY. You can learn to sense the energy fields or "vibes" surrounding you and other people, places and things -- and by doing so, gain tremendous intuitive insight, poise, and confidence in even the most difficult situations.
POSITIVE ENERGY provides clear descriptions of how various kinds of energy ranging from delightfully positive to destructively negative feel, so you can more readily decipher your own physiological and emotional reactions to people and situations. For example, when you meet someone new and notice your body experiencing sudden otherwise inexplicable aches and pains, you're picking up strong negative vibes which should not be ignored!
What I like best about POSITIVE ENERGY is the way it brings the concept of bioenergy fields into everyday life, through exercises, stories, and interviews with people from all walks of life (Jamie Lee Curtis, Eve Ensler, Wavy Gravy, Amy Gross, Quincy Jones, Naomi Judd, Larry King, Shirley MacLaine, Rosa Parks, Iyanla Vanzant). POSITIVE ENERGY shines a light into even the darkest places, and provides new techniques for healing ourselves and our world.

6) March 5 - 10 ~ This week's Book Selection is: A Course In Miracles by Dr. Helen Schucman. This book is NOT for the faint of heart and is one of the deepest books I've ever tried to grasp. I've only just begun the workbook and after having a few false starts where I only got through lesson 3, I decided it might help if I had others taking the journey with me so that I would have someone to discuss these deep lessons/thoughts and truths. I am so glad that my sisters decided they would take this journey with me, without even really knowing much about the book or what they were really in for. I am excited to see exactly where I/WE end up exactly a year from now around my next birthday, as the exercises from the workbook are set up as 365 lessons. One for each day. At this posting we are now on lesson 10.
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is a self-study curriculum that aims to assist its readers in achieving spiritual transformation. The book describes a non-dualistic philosophy of forgiveness and includes what are meant to be practical lessons and applications for the practice of forgiveness in one's daily life. The introduction to the book contains the following summary, "Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God." Wikipedia

"This is the deepest and most profound book I've ever read. And I have a ridiculously large collection of books. ACIM presents spiritual truths so concise and raw, so pure, that one must often spend days or weeks (or more) studying + praying + meditating upon a single passage. Then one may begin to achieve the first insights into the passage, and begin to apply it directly to one's life. With each insight revealed by each passage, you'll suddenly become aware and see the miraculous spiritual world which is true life (all else is a false dream). This book DOES teach miracles." Amazon

7.) March 11-17, 2012
This week's recommendation is titled: 365 Thanks Yous: The Year A Simple Act Of Gratitude Changed My Life , by John Kralik.

I got this book in the early stages of my Gratitude Path. A personal memoir, I was greatly impacted by this book and how much it changed the author's perspective on his life. He was the quintessential negative thinking, living, person; --extremely so. And didn't appreciate very much in his life. By all accounts it was difficult at times actually to read his own accounts as they reminded me of people I had, had experiences with in my life, that were almost intolerable to be around, due to their negativity and "poor me" attitudes. And yes, unfortunately, I could also see myself.

This was the best jump start in changing the way I wanted to view, think and live my life. It truly was the catalyst to push me in that direction. I had already had the seeds of realizing how our thoughts, and gratitude to The Universe could help change our lives and bring us what we wanted-- but this book truly helped me to appreciate the things that were done by others and helped make my life richer for completely unselfish reasons. Like the author, I began to LOOK for reasons to thank people. What a wonderful thing.
